Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo, Japan-based Yokohama Rubber Company (YRC), a global producer and distributor of premium tires for more than 90 years. Since the inception by its parent company in 1969, YTC has introduced several advancements in tire technology including the DOT-approved A001R tire that revolutionized auto crossing in the United States, the A008 asymmetric tread pattern, and the AVS Sport ultra high-performance tire that created the street version of Yokohama’s race-winning Toyota Atlantic racing rain tire.

 

Over the decades, Yokohama Tire Corporation has experienced tremendous growth.  It acquired the Mohawk Rubber Company in 1989, for example, providing essential manufacturing facility in the U.S. and currently maintains plants in Salem, Virginia and Mt. Vernon, Illinois as well. It is headquartered in Fullerton, California where it has doubled its warehouse size to 450,000 square feet.

 

Yokohama is ranked among the most elite tire manufacturers in the world and is the Original Equipment (OE) tire fitment for car makers that include the Tesla Electric Car, Lotus, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Subaru, Isuzu, Suzuki, Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, and General Motors.

Yokohama Tire Corporation offers a broad lineup of products under five brands that have applications for the Passenger Car, Truck, and SUV. Boasting technology derived from the racing circuits, these tires give the consumers uncompromising wet and dry handling performance, enhanced stability, and more inch-up sizes ranging from 17 inches to 24 inches.

 

 

  • ADVAN

 

Yokohama ’s flagship name, which offers tires in the ultra-high-performance category. Its compounding, construction, and the tire tread design utilize the 25 years of race experience resident in the ADVAN engineering team to create a tire without peer in the industry today. Technological advancements include being the world’s fastest SUV tire with W- and Y- speed ratings. ADVAN also offers an all-season tire for premium sedans and coupes.

 

  • S.drive

 

Designed for those who like to push high –performance cars to their fullest potential. Packed with the latest technological advancements such as nanotechnology, which enables the creation of micro-flexible compounds. These micro-flexible compounds conform to surface irregularities and maximize contact between the tire and the road. Additionally, the S.drive features groove-in-groove technology and angled groove walls that work together to reduce uneven wear for performance that lasts.

 

  • AVID

 

AVID is Yokohama’s most popular high-performance line. The Avid TRZ provides an all-season touring performance for passenger cars thanks to is its proprietary three-ride zone technology. The Avid S/T delivers outstanding wet/dry acceleration for light trucks, full-size vans, and muscle cars. The AVID W4s is the first W-speed rated tire in the trusted AVID line and carries a 400/AA/A UTQG quality for outstanding tread wear and the highest traction and temperature ratings.

 

 

  • GEOLANDAR

 

Yokohama ’s line for light trucks and SUVs. The newest in its line-up – the Geolandar A/T-S – features technology for all-terrain performance that fits the consumer’s on-and-off road needs. Its new long lasting tread compound is engineered to deliver high-mileage, promote even wear, and reduce cutting and chipping without sacrificing wet or dry traction. The Geolandar A/T+II offers an aggressive tread pattern and enhanced compound for better traction in mud and snow.

Offers massive, radical diagonal tread blocks to maximize grip while the rim protector feature helps prevent curb scuffing of expensive wheels. The Parada Spec-X provides the ultimate looks, unidirectional tread and all-season performance for the SUV custom/tuner market.
